Under 15′s Dream Goes on; Balmain 2-0 Gladesville

Today we were Richmond bound to play our elimination final against Gladesville who hasn’t beaten or scored a goal against us this season. The game started at a very intensive pace as both teams knew that a simple mistake could be the end of the road and contemplating what could off been.
In the 21st minute Tondy takes the ball down the left wing, puts a through ball down the line to Ben who was able to keep the ball in play, cuts into the field of play cradles the ball at his feet sees the keeper off his line he shoots outside the area and the ball sails through the air and plants itself in the top right hand corner for a superb goal.
The second half started much the same as the first with both teams trying to get the upper hand.
In the 25th minute we were award an elusive free kick, Johnny takes the kick 30-metres out the keeper fumbles the ball and Daniel Fiumara smacks it in for an impressive lead and victory.
Gladesville had their chances with a ball hitting the woodwork and another occasion Kane clearing the ball off the line to deny them any opportunity of scoring.
All 16 boys played an instrumental part in today’s victory and from here on we’ll take each week as it comes.

Glorious 15′s Make Semis Whilst Firsts Cement Div1 Status

The Under 15′s have made the semis off the back of a well fought 2-1 win against Nortbridge in their inaugural season in the State league.See manager Victor’s report on the 15′s team page on this excellent achievement. There were also victories for the 14′s and 16.s 3-0 and 2-0 respectively but one can’t help but feel slightly disappointed for the 14′s who spent most of the season in the top 5, nonetheless it was still a great achievement to finish 6th. The 13′s lost 0-1 and the 18′s 1-7 to conclude all 26 rounds of a gruelling season.
At Magdella Park there was also some good news as the first grade recorded their third successive win with a 3-1 victory securing their Div One status and finishing a credible 9th. The Under 20′s once again lost going down 0-1
