Lions Match Report

A mixed day for Balmain as the Tigers visited Fairfield City Lions on Sunday. The Under 20s earned their first points of the season in a 1-1 draw, and were unlucky not to secure victory. However First Grade suffered their first defeat of the season, going down 1-0.

Despite some promising build-up play and several half-chances, the Tigers could not find the back of the net in the first period. Midway through the second half, a Lions defender unleashed a tremendous shot from 30 metres out to give them a 1-0 lead. Not long after, Balmain were awarded a penalty as a Lions player handled the ball on the line and received a red card. However, the penalty shot was saved, and the Lions held out for their first victory of the season.
