Last gasp loss leaves Tigers mid table

Yet again Birchgrove conceded two early goals and were left chasing the game against a determined Lithgow side. They fought back to 2-2 but Lithgow managed to snatch a winner in injury time. Reserve grade got back on the winning track, another Max Civili double the highlight as they ended up comfortable 5-2 winners.

After conceding 2 quick goals, Birchgrove fought back well in the second half to overrun their opposition, who had two players sent off - final score 4-2. Earlier, the Reserve team fell for the classic sucker punch as their opponents defended in numbers all day then caught the Tigers on the break to take the game 1-0.

A disastrous last half hour against competition leaders, the Western Red Devils, saw the Tigers concede 3 goals to go down 3-2, after leading 2-0 at the break. Reserve Grade hit 3 unanswered second half goals to win 3-0 and open up an 8 point lead at the top of the table in the earlier game.

Two second half goals to striker Craig Lyall gave Birchgrove the points in a 2-1 win over the East Coast Magic in last night's fixture. The Reserve team maintained their perfect record with a 3-0 win that now puts them 5 points clear at the top of the table. This Saturday should be a cracker at Birchgrove, with top of the table clashes for both grades against the Western Red Devils.

Birchgrove battled out a tough 1-0 win away to Southern Star Sharks on Saturday night. In the end a first half penalty was all that could separate the sides. Earlier, the Reserves put their opponents away 3-0 in a very impressive display and are now top of the league with a game in hand.
