Tiger vs Tiger on Semi-Final Sunday

» Posted by Jackson on 06-Aug-08

This Sunday, Lambert Park hosts the Football NSW Conference Major Semi-Final between Camden Tigers and your Balmain Tigers. On offer for the winner is a place in the Grand Final in two weeks' time, while the loser faces a do-or-die knockout match next week.

We urge all of our of supporters to get down there. Kick-off is at 3pm, following the reserve grade semi-final between Lilli Pilli and Gladesville.

Camden and Balmain share a long rivalry, having regularly competed in the same division over the last decade. In the last competitive fixture between the sides in July 2006, Balmain dominated Camden in a 5-0 victory. That day Lorenzo Merlino, current Balmain striker and second highest scorer in the Conference North season, was on the scoresheet. Tigers fans will be rooting for him to repeat the feat on Sunday.

Good luck lads. Sorry I can't make it but I already have a book club arrangement in South London that I just can't get out of.

Lambert park's practically a home game so hopefully there will be plenty of support down there to watch you knock in a few more. Looking forward to reading about the result,
