Tigers slip up at home
Though First Grade lost to Sydney Wanderers 2-1 on Saturday night Under 20s continued their excellent form with a 3-0 victory, highlighted by a hat-trick to Dane 'D-Train' Maberly.
Under 20s sit just two points out of the playoffs after another sterling victory. Two first-half goals set the tone for the match, and the Tigers didn't let up. Another second half strike from D-Train earned him a sensational hat-trick.
In First Grade, a textbook header from Lozza Merlino following a pin-point cross from Tom Sowden gave Balmain the best possible start. Yet the lead was short lived, as the Tigers conceded a soft goal.
The Wanderers pushed on and Balmain struggled to find rhythm. Midway through the second half the Tigers started to find space and time, but just as it looked like the game was swinging their way another soft goal was conceded, knocking the stuffing out of the home side.
Balmain couldn't find an answer, and the match ended in a bitterly disappointing loss.

Sorry for not being in touch boys but I have been on duty with my other roles with QLD origin side, the Chad national team on world cup duty while also keeping my blog on the "Persian cats and the sports they play" website up to date.
Well looks like things haven’t been going too well the last few weeks, any excuses??? Glad to see the D train or as I call him Dane Maberly has listened to X and started to only score bombs and as I always say Dane Maberly, giving away an indirect free kick for dangerous play is better than scoring a tap in.
New U20 signings Conway, the male model from Miranda and Tresty steered the side around well. Trest may however become embroiled in birth certificate scandal later in the year with some wanderer’s fans suggesting he was not 19????
Too frantic in the first grade we cant over run or out enthuse teams in this league as we did in the conference we need to out think and out play them. Eamonn stop reading Gidley’s book "A Captains Knock" its clearly not working maybe start with something a bit more relevant Andrew Symonds “Gone Fishing’. Craig, Swoden and Jem get your hair cut those outlandish doo’s of yours are hurting your games, it’s a football team not a fashion contest. Lozza some header but thought the bicycle was the safer play no room for show ponies at this club.
We are at a crossroads (Eamonn I don’t mean the Brittney Spears movie) in the season Uni, Hills and the Hurstville juggernaut starting to pick up points so we need to find that early season spark/grit again. The obvious suggestion from X is performance enhancing drugs but if we can’t do that then man up. So once again I will leave you with some words of inspiration.
"That'll do Pig"
some interesting results over the long weekend. With uni, hurstville getting points there is 6 teams within 4 points at the bottom. We have to fire up in the next couple of rounds to avoid being in a relegation dogfight at the end of the season. As much fun as the fans will have listening to the radio for 'around the grounds' results on the final day of the season i would prefer to keep the radio at home. Massive away trip to blacktown on the weekend!
Ah X, to say I missed you, would be to say I enjoy the sheep out smarting the bordie collie at a sheep dog trial. I have seen your website about Persian cats and quite frankly it is a nancy-pancy effort. I refuse to take any advice from someone like yourself who has interests such as these.
I will offer some advice of my own. Treiste, you may want to consider showing your 19 year old son's birth certificate, Anthony Junior. This should keep the Wanderer's faithful at bay for another year at least.
Anyway, I'm off to do a spot of fishing ........
Fishing ay you'll go blind if you keep that up.
