Dour win against semi final contenders

The fans were celebrating in the streets down Kellyville and Trasandinos way as the mighty Tigers added another impressive scalp to their collection, with a 1-0 away win against the Southern Star Sharks. The Sharks needed a win to guarantee their place in the finals, but now they are faced with a last round showdown against Trasandinos for the final place in the four. The winner came early in the first period courtesy of a memorable Hassan ‘Goblin’ Reda free kick. The little fella nearly kicked the bladder out of the ball as he crashed a 25 yard missile off the left post and into the back of the net. The second half turned into a bit of a midfield battle but in the end the match belonged to the Balmain back four as their rock solid defence denied the Sharks attack on every occasion.
Reserve grade turned on the style in their 5-3 victory over the Sharks. The goals came courtesy of a rare as green cheese Ian Bailey hat trick, and a double to Andre Mazzacao. Up 3-0 at half time, and with the first team a player short, coach Leo Cirillo even had the luxury of taking off Marcus McMillan and playing with only ten men in the second half. In the end the scoreline flattered the Sharks, with two late late goals turning a 5-1 thrashing into a mere 5-3 hammering.
